BIG DAY Tuesday!!!!!

As many of you are aware I have been consumed over the past year (almost 2 actually) preparing a comprehensive portfolio, which was submitted in March-THAT alone was stressful! Well the next BIG day is coming closer! On Tuesday I will travel to Allentown to take my "Exam for exemplary literacy knowledge" Heh! heh! say that 10 times fast! The exam is in essay form and takes 3-4 hours to complete. There are 6 literacy areas, most of which I feel comfortable about, with the exception of ESL and writing. Teaching writing has always been a thorn in my side-it's not that I can't do it, I do it all the time, but I never feel super confident. To me writing is much more personal and difficult to develop. This year I worked with more ESL students than ever, which wasn't always easy, but the experiences helped me to improve. Despite this I fear that the ESL topic could be a zinger. The exam makes up 40% of my score. Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers. One MORE thing...on Monday I will be seeing my ENT for an ear issue which has plagued me for about 2 months-I fear he will say "I'm going to put a tube in now". Honestly this IS what I want (I cannot hear and I've been miserable) However I don't want this the day BEFORE my big exam. I'm in a bit of a dilemma....PS It's now Monday and I'm back from the ENT-see my comments section for THAT update!

Update on my ENT visit-turns out I probably did erupt my eardrum 2 weeks ago, but it's ok-he cleaned it all out(inner and outer) and said it looks Ok- no tube for now since there's already a hole. The other ear still has the tube from 1996-looking good there! Overall, it was uncomfortable, but not painful. He also scoped my sinuses, which I I've had done to me years ago after my sinus surgery- and things look good there too. I also had my hearing checked and I still don't qualify for a small hearing aide-gee...& I thought I did!

Good luck Karen!

And scoping your sinuses? That doesn't sound very pleasant. This all sounds like little kid problems with your ear...not someone who's been out of college 20 years...LOL!!

Oh, and ps...did you hear that Dance Plus has been booted out of their space in Bath? My friend's daughter was in one of the classes. Apparently there's a jazzercise class there now? Here they go again.....
